Richmond Hill sits in the middle of York Region, along the Yonge Street corridor between Vaughan to the west and Markham to the east. It runs from Highway 7 in the south up past Elgin Mills, which is roughly where the established neighbourhoods give way to the newer ones.
That split matters when you are buying here. Bayview Hill, Mill Pond and South Richvale are mature, low-density and tightly held; the areas north of Elgin Mills are newer, with more townhouses and more recent builds. Viva and GO both run the Yonge corridor, so commuting patterns differ noticeably from one end of town to the other.
